U10 Boys Win Cup at Home Tournament

Saturday last was a perfect morning for football with the sun shining and the pitch in great condition. Glenravel invited 4 Derry and Antrim teams to our annual tournament. From Derry we had Newbridge, Swatragh, Lissan and Greenlough. Unfortunately for one reason or another no Antrim teams attended. Glenravel fielded 2 teams and ran the competition with 6 teams. Our P6 team found the going tough but put in some great displays of football in their group. Glenravel’s P7 team had wins against Newbridge and Swatragh to top the group to set up a semi-final against Lissan. The winners of the semi-finals played for the cup and the runners up played for the shield.

Swatragh beat Lissan in the final of the shield and Glenravel beat Greenlough in the final of the cup after extra time and golden score. This was a great display of football for our P7 team and a fantastic way to end their U10 season. Well done boys.
