Primary 4 Shared Education

Yesterday Primary 4 set off for their Shared Education trip to Glenariff Forest Park. The children were very excited and prepared for the awful weather that had been forecast but thankfully, despite the downpours throughout the night and indeed at 8 o'clock that morning, we arrived to beautiful sunshine.

The children split into two groups mixing with their Camphill friends. One group, led by guide Petra, set off on their walk around the waterfalls. It was the perfect day to visit as the children got to see first-hand how powerful the water can be after heavy rain. They loved getting up close and feeling the spray from the waterfalls as the water thundered over the edge.

The second group went on a Red Squirrel trail, finding the clues and learning about the habitat of the red squirrel. At the end of the trail, they had to build a home for a squirrel which the children found out, was called a drey.

The children had a fantastic day and look forward to their next trip to the forest park.
