Reading at Home: Online Books

Libraries NI are supporting reading at home during the current period of school closure. There are two options:
1. If children have a library card and number they can download books from www.librariesni.org.uk to read.
18 books can be borrowed at a time.
2.If the children would like to join, they can go to the website www.librariesni.org.uk, scroll down to Download eBooks and Audio Books and follow the instructions.
Key Stage 2 pupils can access non-fiction reading through AR.
1. Log into AR as usual.
2. Beside the Accelerated Reader icon there is a new Accelerated Reader Articles icon. In here is a wealth of short non-fiction articles which the children can read online and take a quiz on.
3. Non-fiction is difficult and the articles begin at level 3.5. Please select an article at, or just near, your AR level.
The articles are from level 3.5 up, so unfortunately they may not be suitable for some readers.
