Safer Internet Day 2018

9th February 2018

"Create, Connect and Share respect: A Better Internet starts with you."

This week the children have been learning about the different ways they can keep safe online.

In the Foundation Stage and KS1, the children were shown two beautifully illustrated stories about 'Three Little Monsters and a 'Digiduck' .

The story's fun characters explained how we should always use nice comments online and if we receive any mean comments/messages we should always TELL an adult.

Years 5, 6 and 7 came together to view the winning entries for this year's eSaftey video competition.

The 1st place winning school chose a 'RAP' to get their online safety message across:

We should all be S.M.A.R.T. when we go online...

S - Safe: Don't share personal details

M - Meeting: Never meet up with strangers

A - Accepting: Never accept emails/messages from people you don't know

R -Reliable: Not all information on the internet is true

T - Tell: Tell a parent or trusted adult if something or someone online makes you               feel uncomfortable.

We take eSafety very seriously at Mary Queen of Peace and are currently organising an internet safety workshop for our KS2 children.

Further details to follow.
